This was our 14th year of coming to Destin for a family vacation. We always stay in/around Capt Dave's restaurant. This condo was the perfect location, great pool size. Very welcoming when we arrived and clean. Good communication from the property managers throughout the stay via text. Nice to have a number available if needed. Will definitely stay here next year. We stayed at the last property we use to come down to for 11 years, this a great replacement. *note there is NO Keurig (I would suggest the property provide this) instead of a regular coffee pot.

Took my sister and her friends on a trip to the beach. The property was great, and communication was very easy with property managers. The walk to the beach is SO easy, and the seasonal chairs are great.

house was as listed on website, didn’t have no issues checking in. The place was next to the beach not far walk, could use some laundry detergent for quick wash. I had to buy my own and left a whole box, overall it was great.

We enjoyed staying at the little place! It was right by the beach. I mean a stone’s throw. It was very convenient to shopping and restaurants. The layout of the place was great. It was very economical for the location. The only thing I would say that would be a draw back would be the water heater is tiny. We ran out of hot water every morning before we finished our shower and that was with us showing together. We weren’t able to finish bathing before the hot water ran out. And that was with no hanky panky. Lol! This was a real problem and should he addressed by the owners. Overall it was a great stay. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a cheap place to stay near the beach.

Property was great all though it was quite a walk to the beach. Would have preferred property to be closer it was quite a hassle to get all our beach things to the beach. We were there for four days and it rained two whole days. Of course you can’t control the weather but we were disappointed we didn’t have more sun on n the beach

We had no place to park the night we came. At the same time, we saw that some other units had reserved parking spaces. Would be nice to have one too! Other than that this was a nice place to stay.

Wonderful stay at Chateau La Mer, unit 5B! Very short walk to the private gated beach (like 3 minutes), & never crowded. Gate code to enter/exit the beach. In Destin there are many private beach access gates. I will always be renting condos for future trips, & so glad we didn’t do a hotel or high rise. Some of the pictures are outdated on the listing; there was a new couch & newer bedding. Only negative with Chateau La Mer community is it lacks lush landscaping, but well maintained otherwise. We strongly prefer the two story condos to the ugly high rises, so Chateau La Mer & area was perfect for us. We were walking distance of great dining, & loved the quiet relaxing vibe of this area too. Destin beaches are heavenly with sugary white sand & magnificent clear water. Tips for activities in Destin: 1. Rent bikes for the week! Coastal Cruisers (& many others) are only $40 for the whole week per person, & they deliver & pick up right from your condo. Bike ride to Baytowne Wharf & explore the beautiful neighborhoods. 2. Navarre Beach, Gulf Islands National Seashore-Stunning & our favorite day of the trip! Spent many hours here relaxing & brought kites. Very serene with no crowds. 3. Crab Island-can rent boats with water slides , or jet skis at HarborWalk Village. 4. Cypress Springs-amazing place to kayak & snorkel in Vernon. On our must do list, but canceled from high winds. Call before driving up to see conditions. 5. Drive the 30A to beautiful upscale Rosemary Beach, & check out Santa Rosa Beach too. There were fun beach cruiser bikes everywhere driving through Rosemary. DESTIN DINING We found many favorites with amazing reviews: 1. FAT CLEMENZA’s for Italian, & the best meal of our entire trip. Very authentic, & the best pizza & cheese raviolis. Make sure to try the garlic breadsticks, pizza, & vodka sauce with raviolis. Dessert is a must too. 2. MARINA CAFE for something nice, & incredible coconut pie. 3. CAPTAIN DAVE’s which is right across the street from the condo, & the best strawberry shortcake cheesecake. Favorite dessert of the week. 4. PEDROS TACOS & TEQUILA for yummy Mexican food! Make sure to get the queso, guacamole, & quesadillas. 5. BURRITO DEL SOL was great for counter service burritos/tacos 6. Navarre Beach-TOPS (hole in the wall) best burgers and fries. 7. Baytown Wharf-Oo LaLa Ice cream for the Turtle sundae We would definitely stay here again!

Condo was great had everything we needed . It was a short 2 minute walk to beach. We were on bottom floor and no noise from upstairs neighbors. It was comfortable and enough room. I think the beds in second bedroom need mattress upgrade. It was just what we needed for girls get away. Would recommend to friends and family.

This was the PERFECT location for a beach vacation! Easy to all to the beach, everything we needed was on site. We were notified ahead of our visit that the guest shower was not working and parts had been ordered and offered a gift card. We did not receive this, which was disappointing, but the location is too perfect! We will be back soon!

We have stayed at chateau la mar condos many times and this is by far the nicest one!! Very affordable. It is on ground floor, no stairs to climb. Very close walking distance to beach. The decor is very nice and condo was very clean. The kitchen was perfect. Plenty of everything you need for preparing meals!!! We enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable here. Super cute place. Very clean. The beach was maybe a 3 minute walk. The kitchen was well appointed and there was laundry in unit. The pool was always clean when we went there although the complex itself did seem a bit dated. They wouldn't let us in a minute early, which was a bummer because after we checked out they had the place clean no later than noon so I'm sure it was ready, but they did say that in the rental agreement. We loved the place and are even considering buying in the area now. We would consider staying here again, but may look elsewhere that isnt managed by Realjoy if we come back.
