Wildwood Cottage offers 4 bedrooms and three and a half baths between the main home and the private mother-in-law suite that was recently built directly behind it. Located in the heart of Destin and all beach activities in the renowned Crystal Beach, your family is sure to have their needs met. Wildwood Cottage has an array of beautiful gardens and views that offers your family or group comfort and privacy along with your own private pool for added convenience and luxury.
The mother-in-law quarters is located behind the main house and allows you the advantage of renting two houses at once. The newly built mother-in-law suite offers a small living room, wet bar combination with full sized refrigerator, a queen sleeper sofa, and half bath with pool access on the first floor. The second floor offers a king master suite, full bath, and private balcony overlooking the pool. With only a 3-minute walk to the beach, it's within a mile of everything you'll need to make your tropical vacation perfect!

Wildwood Cottage is just a few minutes' drive from all Destin has to offer, including go-kart rentals, dolphin cruises, charter fishing, parasailing, Big Kahuna's Water Park, The Track Family Fun Center, and the Silver Sands Outlet Mall.
Crystal Beach is a terrific residential area, yet close to restaurants and activities in Destin. Convenient to restaurants such as the award-winning 790 Inn on the Gulf, or Sarah K's Gourmet, get your fro-yo on at U-Twirl Frozen Yogurt or learn how to ride the waves at All-A Board Surf School.
Several outstanding restaurants are close by, including one of the most highly regarded in Destin, 'The 790 Cafe' located at The Inn at Crystal Beach and 'Beachwalk Cafe', rated one of Destin's best by Florida Trend Magazine.
Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also, for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest! If you are near Miramar Beach, the snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Dolphin Reef, deployed in 2017. Located just 685 feet straight out from the Miramar Regional Public Beach access (by Pompano Joe's), it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Dolphin Reef is at a depth of 12-20 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

Cute house near the beach
We had a fantastic time! The house was just as described and in a perfect location. We paid extra to heat the pool, and although it wasn’t as warm as I hoped, it was nice enough to get to enjoy the pool in January. The proximity to the beach was the best perk. Overall we had a great experience with the home. It was very clean , and had all we needed. The beach was from a walking distance to the house. Enjoyed our Stay
We really enjoyed our stay. We were 10 (2 family of 5) and everyone was well accommodated. The pool was the best of course for 3 kiddos and 2 teens it was perfect. And close walking distance to the beach. Of course it was a Hugh problem at the begging there was no network and we didn’t had wifi at the begging but someone came by and fixed it. The only problem we encountered and that is not really property related is the access to the beach we went thru the closest one and they didn’t let us stay there “private property” and had to walk further. We have stayed in this area before and had never had any problem to access the beach. But anyways would just be nice to note the correct Beach access now, at Hutchinson St and Pompano St.- Posted: 7/24/2023

Nice home, location, and pool with a few quirks
Overall a nice stay. A few quirks like not enough towels or no trash bags are oversights. Biggest issue was the grill was filthy so it dangerously flamed up from all the old food and grease at the bottom. For the price we paid, I expected a little better attention to details.- Posted: 7/3/2023

Thanksgiving at the Beach
This beach house was amazing. We had 7 adults, 1 teen, a 2 yr old and 2 infants. We felt so comfortable and felt we had plenty of room. The table was long and fit all of us very well. Since we were cooking each night and Thanksgiving dinner, we brought a few baking dishes and pots and pans from home. However, the kitchen was very well stocked and we didn’t really need our things from home. The location of the house is amazing. It’s a very short walk to 2 different beach entrances. We loved walking around the neighborhood and riding the golf cart that we rented. We always felt very safe. The pool out back was heated and provided a great deal of entertainment for the kids. There are plenty of chairs around the pool for all to enjoy. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week with our family and would definitely rent this house again!- Posted: 12/12/2022

Great Stay
This was a great place to stay for a couple of family’s wanting to experience the beach together. The pool is large for a private pool which is a plus. The house does need to be updated though, a couple of appliances didn’t work properly and there needs to be some type of pantry storage.- Posted: 8/2/2020

Fantastic
My family and I had a great time. The layout was great for being able to stay in and eat as a family since most everything was shut down. The pool was a great way to have fun and pass the time. I had such a good time here that I would want to buy this place so that I could have the place when I finally move back from California. Thanks for the great time.- Posted: 3/25/2020

Home was great! Lots of space. 5 minute walk to the beach. The only drawback was dealing with automated systems instead of humans. Real joy is a high tech company that uses automation to communicate with renters. I had no human interaction on the Airbnb app, phone calls, etc. all computerized responses. No problems, I’m just not used to that.- Posted: 3/20/2020

spring break 2020
We enjoyed the property. Great location. Mother in law suite was great for my son and his two year old. Pool was clean and heating was definately worth doing. We will go back- Posted: 3/18/2020
