"The location is quiet, comfortable and well-maintained. The house was very clean and the towels and bedding were superior. Access was easy and communication was excellent. It was easy to text if I had a question. The description of the unit was accurate. The bikes were a welcome amenity and we used them each day to go to the beach. The pool was warm and very clean."

"Perfect Cottage for 6 - My husband and I stayed here with our teen daughter and her three friends and it was the perfect layout for us! Master on the main floor with the other 2 bedrooms up with plenty of space for the girls. The neighborhood is great and the bikes are a must! It’s a well equipped property with plenty of dishes and cookware. I would recommend the management company to provide more trash liners than the existing one in the kitchen - we needed to change the trash bag mid-week and didn’t realize there were none below the sink. Minor issue!! We really enjoyed our time in the area!"

"We absolutely loved our stay and definitely will be back again next year! This home was gorgeous, and the neighborhood was next level. Between the pool, the private beach, and the trails, there was always something to do. The walk to the beach was breathtaking and being able to come home and cook in that beautiful kitchen was a huge plus! We throughly enjoyed coffee in the morning on the porch swing and our son loved hanging out and reading on the bunk beds in the kids room. Be sure to check out the Old Florida Fish House down the street, we had a blast there as well!"

"Family beach Thanksgiving - We stayed as a single family with two small children for the week of Thanksgiving.
The kids enjoyed the kids bunk room and the large tub in the kid bathroom. They also enjoyed daily porch swings on the bed swing, on the screened porch. The kitchen is well equipped and the oven cooked a perfect Turkey. We enjoyed our neighborhood walks and the convince of having private beach access. We love this neighborhood and have stayed in the past and will continue coming and spending time with family here, highly recommend!"

"We love this neighborhood. We’ve stayed here several times. It’s a short walk (maybe .25 from the pool area) to a private beach. The neighborhood is next to a nature reserve so the beach is much less crowded than other areas. The home was great! It was well stocked with almost kitchen appliance and tool, which is much appreciated when traveling with kids!"

"We absolutely loved our stay at Captain's Cottage! The location in WaterSound West was quiet & very family oriented and was great for us as it’s right between Grayton Beach and Panama City Beach but without feeling the hustle & bustle of the other tourists. This was our first time visiting the 30-A area but we had such a great stay here we will definitely be coming back soon!
The house itself is very large with and spacious with comfy couches, cozy beds, beautiful beachy decor & feels like a home. We were able to connect to the Roku smartTV in the living room and use our favorite apps for our little ones favorite morning shows. We also took full advantage of the large screened porch which was perfect for our 2 & 3 year old, they particularly loved the swing. We spent tons of time during our week long stay at the beach and two days at the WaterSound West pool. The beach access & boardwalk are beautiful & there was tons of public space to sprawl out on the beach. I also highly recommend visiting Inlet Beach public access while you’re staying, we loved it for our littles as the waves were much smaller & more kid friendly and there were lots of other kiddos there for them to play with. We also loved riding around the area on the four bikes provided by Captain’s Cottage and even ventured up to Seaside Beach & Seaside Central Square on them. We did have a bit of a problem checking in with our door access code but RealJoy responded super quickly to my message and fixed the problem within about 10 minutes & it was smooth sailing from there. Overall, we would highly recommend staying at Captain’s Cottage in WaterSound West and look forward to staying here again in the very near future."

"WOW! THIS HOUSE WAS PERFECT FOR OUR FAMILY VACATION!!! - I cannot say enough good things about this property! The description on VRBO was spot on and there were no surprises during our stay. The neighborhood is gated and super quiet, which is exactly what we were looking for. Yet it's close enough to anything that you would need. Having 4 bikes included with the property is a very nice touch, and we preferred them over a golf cart. The state-of-the-art kitchen was unbelievable and had everything you could possibly need. The outdoor gas grill was also much nicer than what I was expecting. Having 2 king beds in a 3-bedroom property is also a rare find based on my search in this area. The management company was responsive, pleasant, and helpful. This place is 10 out of 10! I would highly recommend it and plan to go back next year!! Oh, and the swing in the sunroom was the icing on the cake!!!"

"Beautiful home in Watersound! - We went down to Watersound for my birthday weekend with another couple and had a wonderful time at this house! It is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a beach retreat. Check-in was easy, and even though the hot water nozzle had somehow popped off, the property manager was there at 9am the next day to put it back on for us. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking pans/utensils, and it's all Viking appliances! There are also two beach chairs to take to the beach, which we loved. It was a great little escape for us. Thank you so much for opening your house to us!"

"The property was gorgeous. I would definitely return.... - I loved the wooded areas, gave the feel of privacy between the cottages. Walking on the boardwalks were beautiful scenery as well. We biked daily on the property, I highly recommend that. Community pool was so nice. I will definitely book my next vacation here and stay for 2 weeks instead."

"Return trip! Love this home and community! - The house is very clean and cozy, has everything our family needs for a relaxing stay. The community is friendly, safe and very quiet. The screened in porch with swing is a dream - spent many mornings and afternoons out there reading a book. There are a few downsides: the walk to the beach is long but worth it since it's practically a private beach; the appliances in the house are terrible, the fridge is not very cold; and the cleanliness of the home is lacking in a few areas but not enough to warrant a maintenance call just a slight bother. No place is perfect but this is pretty darn close! We will be coming back again!"

"Comfortable and luxurious - I am always nervous renting on line, but this time I hit it out of the park! This house was perfect for our week at the beach. It looks just like the pictures. Every finish out is beautiful, like staying in a model home. The management people we dealt with couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, and we didn't have a single problem during our stay. The pool is lovely, the beach is a short bike ride away --3-5 minutes -- and feels like a private beach. The only thing we missed was reliable internet, but the management had warned us that the service would be spotty. We did not have a personal hotspot, but that would have solved that issue. Our favorite part was the sun porch with the swinging bed. A GREAT getaway!!"

"A Perfect Get Away - We loved Captain's Cottage. It was even more beautiful than the photos. The screened porch overlooking a serene and beautiful garden was a pleasant surprise. It was the perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment of the area. There was nothing overlooked...from the wonderful chef's kitchen to the beautiful decor. Every room was spotless and beautifully decorated. The property has a lovely pool and a natural access through the dunes to the beach. We will definitely be back! "
